In particular, the ski regions in Tyrol seem to be gaining in popularity. But this place offers an excellent selection not only for passionate skiers but also for families.
The Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis ski area is known for its family friendliness. The slopes range from easy to intermediate and are especially suitable for beginners and children. In addition, there are a variety of offers for families, from childcare to an adventure arena or an indoor play hall for children. The ski region has an enchanting children’s snow meadow. In the Adventure Land, the little ones can get to know the world of mascot Murmli. In addition, great importance is placed on the inspection of the ski region in Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis. Together with SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser, these two ski areas are among the sixteen inspected ski regions in Tyrol, making them particularly suitable for families. The winter season lasts from early December to early April.
Have you always wanted to see the filming locations of “Der Bergdoktor” while also racing down adventurous slopes? Then you should take a closer look at SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser (Brixental). This ski area has plenty to offer both young and old. The SkiWelt also attracts with its location, allowing you to visit Munich, Innsbruck, and Salzburg during your holiday. Like Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis, this ski area is particularly suitable for families and offers Family Ski Weeks (07.12 - 20.12.24 and 15.03 - 30.03.25) during which ski passes for children up to 15 years are free of charge. Are you looking for wellness and parties combined with skiing? Then Ischgl could be the right choice for you! The slopes offer fun for all skill levels and provide variety with snow parks, so even the experienced skiers and snowboarders among you will get their money’s worth. In addition to the adventurous ski region, Ischgl offers relaxation at the Silvretta Therme. There, you can unwind after a long and exhausting day in the snow and enjoy high-quality spa treatments. The start of the ski and snowboard season is marked by a big event featuring world stars such as Ellie Goulding, officially kicking off the season. You can also take advantage of the experience program, which offers various mountain activities such as snowshoe hiking in the picturesque Alpine setting. The ski season runs from late November to early May.
You may already have heard of the Sölden ski area. Among other things, it offers the longest ski run in all of Austria—and that’s not all. Experience adventure in the fun park and discover the charm of Sölden. Take the chance to slide down a 7 km long toboggan run, not only in broad daylight but also in the dark. In addition, a masterpiece of the film world was shot in the middle of the Alpine scenery: Spectre. Thus, Sölden is not only a ski resort but also the filming location of a James Bond movie. Immerse yourself in the scenery and visit the 007 Adventure World high in the mountains during the winter season from mid-September to early May.
But it’s not just Tyrol that boasts promising ski resorts! Even though the ski resorts in Tyrol are already very tempting and offer many options for young adults, families, as well as professional skiers and snowboarders, we should not forget the Arlberg ski region!
Arlberg is one of the five largest ski resorts in Austria. The ski area rewards you with a beautiful panoramic view of the breathtaking beauty of the Alps and allows you to descend countless slopes. There is a wide range of runs for both professional skiers and snowboarders and beginners. In addition to classic skiing, you can also try cross-country skiing or discover hiking trails. The Arlberg ski area includes a variety of resorts, including the Lech area. This is particularly worthwhile because it offers a special experience: the Skyspace. This is an underground color-light room that bathes in different colors when the sun rises early in the morning or at dusk. The ski season begins in early December and lasts until the end of April.
