For short-term travelers who plan to visit Austria from neighboring countries for just one day, the question often arises whether there is an option to purchase a 1-Day Vignette for Austria. This way, they can avoid the hassle of buying the relatively more expensive 10-Day Vignette, which is valid for 10 consecutive days but is often not needed for such a short trip.
As a provider of digital vignette products, we are pleased to inform you that Austria will introduce a 1-day vignette from 01.12.2023! This allows short-term travelers to opt for this more affordable alternative and no longer need to purchase a 10-Day Vignette for a one-day trip.
From 01.12.2023, this offer will therefore expand the existing options:
with the addition of a 1-Day Vignette.
Short-term travelers now face the question: From how many days does a 1-Day Vignette no longer make sense?
Here the truth lies in the name of the product: Due to the announced price increase of the 10-day vignette from 01.12.2023, the 1-day vignette is actually only worthwhile if you really only want to spend one day in Austria. Starting from the second day of your stay in Austria, the 1-Day Vignette becomes more expensive than the 10-Day Vignette.
It is valid for one calendar day from 00:00 to 23:59. For cars and vehicles up to and including 3.5 tons, it costs €13.90, and for motorcycles, it costs €6.90.
The 10-day vignette, 20-day vignette, 2-month vignette, 4-month vignette, annual vignette, and the new 1-day vignette are available online from us. The 1-day vignette is only available digitally and not as a sticker vignette. All vignettes are valid immediately with us.
The 1-day vignette is valid for one calendar day.
An expired vignette is generally invalid. Therefore, a replacement toll is due if you forget to extend it.
