Departure restrictions will once again be implemented on the Tauern Motorway (A10). Starting Thursday, the restrictions will come into effect and are expected to remain in place until June 26.
Heavy traffic is expected on the already congested Tauern Motorway (A10) during the Easter weekend and the upcoming public holidays in May and June. In addition, one direction of travel is completely closed until June 25 due to renovation work on the tunnel chain near Werfen.
Since drivers are diverting to federal roads, causing congestion in surrounding towns, authorities are once again implementing bypass restrictions. The following exits on the A10 will be closed:
The closures for Puch-Urstein, Hallein, Kuchl, and Golling-Abtenau will begin on April 17, while the closures for Pfarrwerfen-Werfen and Eben will begin on April 18.
These measures will remain in place until the construction work is completed. If the tunnel renovation remains on schedule, the restrictions should be lifted starting June 26. During the summer, two lanes in each direction will once again be available.
We wish you a safe journey!
