According to ASFINAG, the renovation of the Pfänder Tunnel is planned from March 10, 2025, to October 24, 2025. The renovation will focus on the lighting system, traffic management, video surveillance, emergency call system, doors and gates, fire alarm system, control system, and the installation of an acoustic tunnel monitoring system. Please note that no construction work will take place on weekends or during the summer holidays (July 12, 2025 - September 9, 2025), but the use of the route will be restricted during the following periods:
Closures of the Pfänder Tunnel with partial restrictions
- Closure of the normal lane from March 10, 2025 - March 28, 2025
- Closure of the overtaking lane from March 31, 2025 - April 11, 2025
- Closure of the Pfänder Tunnel from April 14, 2025 - April 30, 2025 (between 8 PM and 5 AM)
- Closure of the Pfänder Tunnel from May 5, 2025 - July 11, 2025 (between 8 PM and 5 AM)
- Closure of the Pfänder Tunnel from September 8, 2025 - October 6, 2025 (between 8 PM and 5 AM)
- Closure of the Pfänder Tunnel from October 14, 2025 - October 24, 2025 (between 8 PM and 5 AM)
Total Closure of the Pfänder Tunnel
The total closure of the Pfänder Tunnel will take place from October 7, 2025, to October 13, 2025.
Therefore, please be aware of the total closure and the restricted use of the Pfänder Tunnel during other periods to plan for potential delays and possibly choose alternative routes.
