2026 will be the last year you can purchase the classic sticker vignette. Starting in 2027, only the digital vignette will be available, which will also become more expensive. Three quarters of drivers are already using the digital vignette, where only the vehicle’s license plate is registered online.
Until now, the sticker vignettes received a new color each year, and the last analog vignette for 2026 will be bright red. In addition to the transition, prices will once again be adjusted to the consumer price index and will increase by an average of 2.9%. Accordingly, the annual vignette for a car will cost 106.80 euros, and a two-month vignette 32 euros. A ten-day vignette will cost 12.80 euros, and a one-day vignette 9.60 euros.
In Switzerland, there are no new prices, but only the annual vignette is available for purchase. Switzerland also offers a digital version. Slovenia, Slovakia, Czechia, and Hungary already have fully digital toll systems. With this change, Austria follows the example of its neighboring countries.
