On Monday, preparatory work began for the major renovation of a nearly three-kilometer section of the Tauern Autobahn (A10) between Eisentratten and Gmünd. This comprehensive renewal project was commissioned by Asfinag and will be carried out by Strabag. Approximately 23.5 million euros are expected to be invested in the repairs.
Initial adjustments to the roadway will take place by the end of March. The emergency lanes on both directions of traffic will be adapted to allow traffic flow for the main construction phases. As a result, two lanes in each direction will remain open and usable despite the construction starting in early April.
In addition to the roadway renewal, work will also be done on two bridges (Puchreith and Galgenbichl), drainage systems, and the barrier system. The construction will also involve the building of two water protection facilities and noise barriers.
Due to the preparation of the construction site, significant traffic jams are expected in the direction of travel north. However, avoiding the area via Stadionallee is also not recommended, as the Stadion Bridge, which is also being renovated, is located along the way. Therefore, there will also be disruptions on Stadionallee.
